eMerge Training Scheduled

Dealers who qualify to become eMerge Certified can attend a two-day training program at the company’s Canton, MA headquarters outside of Boston on June 20 and 21. The training is open to dealers who have been accepted into the program. Classes cover both basic certification training and hands-on training on advanced eMerge features.

Generate eMerge Proposals using eQuote on IEI Customer Website

eMerge Certified Dealers can now take advantage of a customized quote tool on IEI’s secure customer website. The site, designed exclusively for eMerge Certified Dealers, was developed to provide tools, technical information and training material to IEI’s base of certified dealers. It is one of the value-added services dealers receive when making a commitment to carry the eMerge product line.

When dealers register at the site, they can use eQuote to help simplify the creation of quotes. It is designed to help dealers become more productive at selling and configuring the eMerge system. Certified dealers can register at the site by going to the IEI homepage at www.ieib.com and clicking on the customer login on the top right of the page. Because this is a secure site, authorization is required, which may take up to 2 business days for approval.
 

eMerge Price Addendum

Copies of an eMerge price addendum were recently mailed to IEI key contacts. The new price list contains information and pricing on a number of product and service changes such as new Video Management System (VMS), Identify Management System (IMS) options and Professional Services offering. eMerge Service Pack 3 Issued

Now available, Service Pack 3 for eMerge contains a number of new features to enhance reliability and performance of the system. Among the enhancements:

  • New user interface for the video browser page
  • Photo ID enhancements
  • Dedicated Micro PTZ functionality added
  • New portal status page
  • New general event history report
  • Reduction in communication traffic
  • Monitoring of RAM disk to avoid running out of memory

Customer Feedback Process

IEI's customer feedback process is online. A web-based survey form is now available to all customers who have purchased or installed an IEI security management or access control system or device. Customers can rate the quality of the IEI product or service they received in a number of categories.

Professional Services Offering for eMerge Certified Dealers

                    

IEI has rolled out a new Professional Services function designed to assist eMerge Certified Dealers in the installation and support of IEI's browser managed security product line. Among the services being offered are:
  • Database Conversion and Data Migration – Provides assistance migrating data from an existing database into the eMerge system.
  • API Mapping and Middleware Creation – Development of real-time transfer of data between the eMerge software application and third party software applications.
  • Report Writing through eMerge API – Using the eMerge API, creating custom reports through a third party report writing tool.
  • System Commissioning – A service that helps the customer bring their eMerge system live.

All eMerge Professional Services will be quoted on an individual basis after review of the project. All requests for Professional Services from an eMerge Certified Dealer will be considered, including services that do not fall within the categories listed above.

Illuminated Keypad Line Expanded

Dealers will soon be able to order two of IEI’s most popular keypad styles in a backlit illuminated option. The r Style Ruggedized Keypad and the se Style Sealed Environmental Keypad will come with an option of keypad illumination. These keypads include programming options such as dimming the keys after a period of time.

The r and se style illuminated keypads augment IEI existing illuminated line of keypads, which include the iL Style Architectural Backlit Keypad, the e Style Flush Mount Backlit Keypad and the iLM Style Mullion Mount Backlit Keypad. The new se and r style illuminated keypads will be available during the summer of 2006. For more information on the r style keypad, click here. Illuminated keypads provide a number of important advantages. Users can easily view the numbers on keys, which increases accuracy of keying operations and improves ease of use. Users can easily find the keypad in dark areas. They provide a positive visual indication of power and operation. And they are a visual deterrent against would-be burglars because of their brightly annunciated display.

IEI has also expanded the iLW Architectural Backlit Keypad product line to include the 242 functionality. The 242 iLW has four programmable outputs that can be configured to operate in any combination by code, or standard access control functions such as propped and forced door.  Like the 212 iLW and the Secured Series SSW-iLW, the 242iLW is an illuminated keypad.

New Version of Hub Manager Professional Access Control Software Released

The latest version of Hub Manager Professional Software contains a new “Dynamic Device Detection” which automatically searches your network and detects IEI’s Secure Ethernet Gateway (SEG) without the need for prior setup. If an IP address changes after connection has been established, the software will automatically search and locate the device on the network and re-establish communication.

Other new features of Hub Manager Professional include:

i-Update – A program that can be run to automatically update Hub Manager Professional to the latest version.

IEI Professor – A built-in tutorial program that instructs users how to properly setup their system.

Troubleshooting Utility – Helps users with communication issues on setup or if communications have been lost.
